Practicing Mother

Thank you for being curious enough to visit my blog.
Who am I and why am I here? After becoming a mom again at the age of 46 years’ old, I felt the inspiration to share my experience. The first year has been incredible, very emotional, tiring and inspiring. As if all these emotions can be rolled into one… they can and they take their toll. I was blessed with a natural pregnancy and wanted to continue with mother nature at my side by breastfeeding for the first year, and I did it.

The one thing I felt compelled to share; how much has changed since I was a first time mom in 1999. Little things like weaning now take place at 6 month old instead of 3 months, the scientific knowledge about the babies brains and of course, social media information which I have used to my advantage. I find these little humans fascinating and that we are raising adults. I’ve loved learning to be in the moment. Something I didn’t hear when I had my sons because back then, It wasn’t a term as no one had smart phones.

I have grown too and learnt a lot about myself in 2 and a half decades. I’m kinder to myself as well and I also have a huge respect for mothers, especially those with little ones. Supermoms is what I now call them.

Mothers, be kind to yourself, you are doing a great job!

Another big reason for blogging is to talk about what we are not talking about as mothers, women and partners sharing a new baby. Its a tough ride and if you stick together, you can get through anything.
